Explore Your Child's Unique Sensory Portrait

Explore your Child's Unique Sensory Portrait

Print out this sensory checklist taken from the updated and expanded version of the award-winning book Raising a Sensory Smart Child: The Definitive Handbook for Helping Your Child with Sensory Processing Issues by Lindsey Biel, OTR/L and Nancy Peske.

Then fill it out to understand your child's unique sensory portrait. Because school presents a different set of challenges for the child with sensory processing issues, you might want to ask your child's teacher to fill it out, too. If your or your child's teacher checked off a lot of "avoids," "seeks," or "mixed," seek an evaluation by an occupational therapist (OT) specially trained in assessing and treating sensory processing issues.

BUY Raising a Sensory Smart Child and learn more about helping your child who has sensory processing issues.
