Kid Companions review

Timely because today’s parents want to be informed and their thirst for knowledge about the sensory issues that challenge their child, hence their entire family, will lead them to seek the best information available. Timeless because Raising a Sensory Smart Child has practical, tried and true information that works now and for years to come...A winner!

Nancy Peske, the Sensory Smart Parent, began learning about sensory issues when her son was 2 years old and diagnosed with sensory processing disorder and multiple developmental delays. She couldn't find the book she needed to help her parent her child with sensory processing disorder and asked her son’s occupational therapist, Lindsey Biel, OTR/L, to cowrite a book with her. The result was the award-winning Raising a Sensory Smart Child: The Definitive Handbook for Helping Your Child with Sensory Issues.

A passionate educator on sensory issues, Nancy has been active in the SPD community since 2002, presenting to parents and professionals eager to learn practical ways to help kids with sensory processing issues.

She has spoken or taught at The 92nd Street Y, YAI, The Family Life Center, Long Island University/C.W. Post Campus, Personal Touch Home Care, Concordia University, the North Shore People's Network, St. Francis Children's Center, UWM Autism Certification Program, Waukesha (Wisconsin) PTO, Autism Society of Southeastern Wisconsin, Shorewood Recreation Department, and the SPD ParentZone (online webinar).
